ever wonder if people are being our friends and acquaintances simply cuz they like how we portray ourselves (in other words, they like our shells, not so much what's inside)?

  • Cancer, Scorpio, Sagittarius (sun, rising, moon) I always wonder how people would react if they could see my brewing anxiety and insecurity beneath my tough scorpio shell. I'm much more emotionally fragile than others perceive which sucks when i come across signs who don't get cancers - like all the aries i know!!!

I have mixed feelings about it, some people can see through our shells and do notice that we're hiding behind one. Others tend to be offended that we put up that guard and meet it with hostility. And other people are just oblivious and believe that what they see is what they're getting.

      Interesting.....

So, like, how would a Cancer with a Scorp rising react in relationships ?

My dad had this placement and he is an intensely loyal, caring and helpful father/husband/brother, good listener, wise, has a great sense of humor and laughs often, but at the same time difficult to know by any of us.

I cant imagine what that would look like from the ouside.
He probably would resemble a shadow. Metaphorically speaking...

He has a great realtionship with each of his children and his wife and siblings..
But his inner most feelings he keeps very private.
He and I are very close and we have discussed him being so introvert.
I know he has feelings he has never revealed to anyone and will probably take to his grave.

When hew gets into his 'moods', he retreats (usually outdoors) and is alone to sort out things for himself.

In his time alone, which he has regularly, he does a lot of studing on his subjects of interest and is very intellegent.
This could be anything from rebuilding his engine to new herbal remedies to quantum physics.....

Has fine tuned senses, intuition and a sharp looong memory.
I recall once him telling me that he never turns his back on a man.
If he is in a store, he is aware of the people who are around him at all times. He has a strong survival instinct.
So I can see his Scorpio rising in his projected persona...

Usually he is pretty quiet in the general public.
But dont let someone be rude or obnoxious..especially to a woman, child or elderly person...
or the worst: a member of his family.

He will approach them and ask nicely, but make it clear that the behavior has to stop.. immediately..
He is very intimidating and to watch him approach some loud mouth and see their reaction to him is like
watching a balloon deflate in slow motion. His presence can be very intimidating.
It is as if you can feel the potential threat he poses. Very strong energy.
I have never seen a person not comply with his request.

I have to say I am glad to be his daughter, that puts me in the safe zone :)

But to sum it all up, I would say he is a good blend of his sun/rising.

I recall reading that the influence of the rising sign is like sun shining through
a payne of stained glass..the colors are projected across the chart of the person so their influence is felt everywhere.

I think that is an accurate description.

You know, Dee I failed to mention earlier that that's a great question !.... For any sign really. Hm, consider the ascendants as the motiviations to move outside of the shell ?

One, great to see you again btw. I like your interpretation of the rising as in stained glass coloring every aspect of the chart... But. a Scorp's secretiveness across the chart, erm, I cant say I'm all that happy to hear. But alot of what you described sounds dead on, except the quiet part ( but the Cancers are pretty chatty folks aren't they ? ) ~ so how was your summer ? ~

    DEE, what's you're rising
