from personal experience (me being a cancer) and being around cancerians, i find that there's a specific brand of wacky, silly, warm humor that cancerians often possess... (an example of some cancerian comedians: robin williams, bill cosby, phyllis dyller, gilda radner, mel brooks and the list goes on.
i think it's because we thrive on good vibes, and humor is a straight shot to receiving and giving them. also, our perceptiveness doesn't hurt.
any thoughts?

Thu, August 18, 2005 - 12:05 PMomg yes! I see things as funny that other people just don't "get."
And people who can make me laugh, and can laugh with me seem to end up being my best friends. -

Re: cancerian humor
Sat, September 22, 2007 - 4:18 PMI totally know what you mean about finding stuff funny that other people just don't get. I can laugh so much about something and people are like what??. But it's hilarious to me.
I remember once working with this other Cancerian and we would be sitting infront of my computer working on something and I would start laughing about something I just noticed or saw and then so would he...he would just get it straight away like he knew totally what I was laughing about without me even saying what it was.

Re: cancerian humor
Mon, August 29, 2005 - 10:52 AMOooooo. I like the tribe photo of the Dalai Lama. I've seen him speak in person once and he had me giggling all through his on-stage interview. He diffenitely has a Cancerian sense of humor. Example:
Dalai Lama: People ask me how do you see through your third eye. I don't recommend it. Sounds very painful, inserting an extra eye in the middle of your forehead....don't do it. -

Re: cancerian humor
Mon, September 5, 2005 - 4:32 PMThat's awesome.
Yes, I'm often the wise-ass, but never the bride, er,...or something like that.
How come people more often than not just don't get us, you think? On a personal level this has been getting on my nerves lately.

Re: cancerian humor
Tue, September 6, 2005 - 1:55 PMI tend to get a lot of blank looks from people. I make a snide/witty/sarcastic/highbrow/lowbrow remark and I get the deer-in-head-lights stare. It's kinda creepy.
On the upside, my BF mostly gets my humor and I get his, we crack each other up all the time and people look at us both funny, (he's a Gemini).
And on a rare occassion, and this is the best, I'll meet somebody at a party who's like me and we're the only one's tuned into each other's humor, so we're cracking up across the room from each other and no one else get's it. It's so cool to find someone else who's on that same whacky wavelength!

Re: cancerian humor
Fri, October 28, 2005 - 5:25 AMI agree that Cancers have a loony sense of humor. It’s mostly silly irreverent and just plain zany, which explains why I personally laugh at the dumbest things.
I notice this especially when I meet up or connect with Female Cancers, there is this moon influenced humor in which we just seem to crack each other up. We laugh or more truthfully, I laugh, at the dumbest jokes, appreciate physical humor and have treasure trove of anecdotes that are just simply funny.
Male cancers I have experienced have a much more satirical, cynical biting approach, much like Cancerian George Saunders, who was very ironic and droll, and who killed himself because he just got bored.

Re: cancerian humor
Fri, October 28, 2005 - 10:14 AMOi!
So few get my humour that when I find someone who DOES I want to kidnap them and have them live in my secret place under the house.... hehe
A dude I hang with often, who happens to be a Capricorn, (I don't know his specifics), gets me..and my humour..and he has the most delightful, delicious humour himself... the thing I've noticed about his humour is it's gentle... funny as hell, but gentle.... he doesn't have a mean streak and the's mostly... me on the other hand..I can be sardonic, sarcastic, a tad mean, sweet, light, obscure... whatever..but I can't go to the land of physical humour..*hate the Stooges* or anything I think it "stupid"... which is very subjective.
Still, the midnight giggles are the best... when I can see the silly, slightly twisted, humour in EVERYTHING.
*wink*

Fri, June 8, 2007 - 8:01 AMAll so true! I have so many tumbleweed moments...where people just look at me blankly trying to figure me out! When I'm drunk (oh god so many stories on that topic) I'm always the one who takes it too far. my true friends love me for it though. Or does it ever happen in reverse for you guys? Sometimes I'll say something I don't consider funny at all and the entire room erupts in laughter. -

Yes, they think I'm damn comedian. -

Re: cancerian humor
Fri, June 8, 2007 - 11:06 AMI'm pretty much a smartass too...moreso when I'm writing as opposed to speaking though. I'm not always as quick with the verbal comebacks. And I'm sarcastic, dark, make jokes about "inappropriate" things, etc. And it's not about getting attention in crowds, because I HATE being the center of attention. Please, focus on anyone but me. I do it only one-on-one usually, among family or close friends because I'm really quite shy.

That used to always happen to me. Wow, I forgot about that. That has not happened to me in a long time. -
-
Re: cancerian humor
Sat, June 9, 2007 - 10:46 AMThat happens to me too. It's usually when I just state something flatly...something obvious...I'm not trying to be funny. I'm just stating an observation. But for whatever reason, it turns out to be funny. Maybe the humor is in acknowledging something that others wouldn't have? Or maybe it's in the delivery?
